In a bid to offer families a wholesome American experience amid concerns about the perceived political stance of Disney theme parks, plans for a massive $2 billion American Heartland Theme Park and Resort have been unveiled near Tulsa, Oklahoma. The project, which is set to open sometime in 2025 in Vinita, a town just northeast of Tulsa, aims to rival the offerings of Disney’s parks that some critics have labeled as embracing “extreme leftism.”

Vinita Mayor Josh Lee expressed his excitement during a press conference, asserting that the resort would attract visitors from around the world to celebrate the values of “hometown America.” The initial phase will feature a camping park for RVs and cabins, with the theme park and additional attractions scheduled to open in subsequent years.

American Heartland CEO Larry Wilhite expressed enthusiasm about making Oklahoma the home of this family entertainment destination. He praised the state’s business-friendly approach and innovative partnership efforts that facilitated the project. The resort, spread over a vast 1,000-acre plot, will feature a 125-acre theme park comparable in size to Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom.

Alongside the Three Ponies RV Park, the development team plans to construct a world-class hotel with 300 rooms, complete with an indoor water park. The theme park will boast distinctly American-themed attractions, aiming to celebrate the country’s landscapes, cultures, and, most importantly, its people.

During the press conference, American Heartland Founder and Chief Creative Officer Gene Bicknell emphasized the need for a place that brings peace, hope, and joy to the troubled world. The park’s mission is to promote not only the local area but also the entire country and potentially the world. Bicknell expressed the hope that American Heartland would become a gathering place for families to create cherished memories, experience joy, laughter, imagination, and wonder.

The developer of the project is American Heartland, an affiliate of the successful Mansion Entertainment Group LLC based in Branson, Missouri. Executive Producer Steve Hedrick proudly proclaimed that the American Heartland Theme Park and Resort would offer an experience on par with the world’s top resort destinations while remaining true to its family-friendly and American-centric values. The park will feature several distinctly American lands, such as Great Plains, Bayou Bay, Big Timber Falls, Stony Point Harbor, Liberty Village, and Electropolis.
