In a recent postgame interview, MLB star Jazz Chisholm found himself in hot water with fans after a controversial prank that left Miami Marlins interviewer Jessica Blaylock drenched. This incident occurred on Tuesday night after the Marlins’ victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

During the live broadcast, Blaylock was interviewing the night’s hero, Vidal Brujan, when Chisholm sneaked up and emptied an entire water cooler over Blaylock, Brujan, and a translator. Blaylock remained professional and laughed it off but social media had an aneurysm.

Many fans were not amused, labeling Chisholm’s prank as disrespectful and uncalled for. Comments flooded in, with one baseball fan calling him an “absolute jerk,” while another described him as an “a**hole.” The backlash was intense, reflecting a broader sentiment that Chisholm, who had recently been voted MLB’s most overrated player in an anonymous poll by his peers, is becoming one of the sport’s least liked figures.

Blaylock, soaked but smiling, joked about the incident, saying on Bally Sports, “Oh, my goodness. I feel like I just maybe delivered the walk-off hit.” Meanwhile, Chisholm appeared unfazed by the criticism, even flexing and smiling for the camera afterward. A teammate’s approving pat on the chest further fueled the negative reactions, with one social media user questioning the appropriateness of the gesture.

Blaylock later took to social media to address the prank, brushing it off. She tweeted, “Hey @j_chisholm3, I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything. But you better bring me some chocolate tomorrow!!! I think I earned it!” Chisholm responded affirmatively, promising a box of chocolates for Blaylock.

Jazz responded stating, “You know I always got you!!! There’s a box waiting on you !!”
