Wasn’t there a movie about this?

At Miami International Airport, a rather unusual event unfolded when a passenger was caught trying to board an airplane with a bag of snakes hidden in their pants. This peculiar incident happened on a Friday and quickly drew the attention of airport security.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), responsible for ensuring the safety and security of travelers, discovered the snakes during a routine screening at one of the airport checkpoints. The TSA promptly shared images of the reptiles on X, a social media platform, noting that the snakes were cleverly concealed within the passenger’s attire.

Following the discovery, the TSA called in U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Miami-Dade police to assist with the situation. The snakes were then handed over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which took responsibility for the reptiles’ care and handling following the incident.

This is not the first time someone has attempted to smuggle snakes through airport security in Florida. In a similar incident in late 2022, a woman tried to bring a boa constrictor through security at Tampa International Airport (again Florida). She claimed the snake, named Bartholomew, was her emotional support pet. However, when the TSA notified the airline, it was decided that Bartholomew would not be allowed on the plane. In that case, the snake was hidden in a carry-on bag, not in the passenger’s clothing.
