A peculiar and somewhat comical crime in Sicklerville, New Jersey, has drawn attention after two masked individuals were caught on camera stealing packages from a home. One of them paused to twerk for the resident’s Ring doorbell camera. The footage, which has since been shared widely, provides a rare glimpse into the antics of so-called porch pirates.

The incident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. on December 9 at a residence in the Independence Square townhouse complex. The Gloucester Township Police Department reported that the stolen packages contained drinking glasses and baby items, valued at approximately $74. The bold theft, combined with the unusual behavior captured on video, prompted the victim to post the footage on the Ring Neighbors app under its “Safety and Security” feature.

In the video, one suspect is seen taking a package from the home’s front stoop while the other bends over and performs a twerking motion directly in front of the doorbell camera. Both then fled the scene with the stolen items. The actions were as brazen as they were unusual, quickly capturing public and police attention.

In an unexpected twist, one of the suspects returned to the scene two days later, wearing a facemask and hoodie, seemingly to complain about the victim sharing the footage online. Approaching the doorbell camera late at night, the individual can be heard saying, “Come on dude, not cool bro, come on, not cool,” referencing the footage. The suspect lamented, “That’s my a** on the internet!”—a remark that only added to the absurdity of the situation.

The drama didn’t end there. Roughly 10 minutes after the initial return, the same individual came back to the house again, this time holding a broken glass, one of the items taken during the theft. Placing it on the doorstep, the suspect commented, “Uh, I meant to give this back,” before fleeing once more.

Local police responded to the incident with a mixture of seriousness and humor. In a video release titled “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up: Crime Stoppers Exclusive,” they recounted the events and issued a statement cautioning residents to remain vigilant about package thefts, especially during the holiday season.

One of the suspects in the video was observed wearing a sweatshirt with “Hollywood” printed on it, along with lyrics from the 1995 hit song “California Love” by 2Pac and Dr. Dre. The police are seeking public assistance in identifying the two individuals involved in the theft.

While the incident has sparked laughter and bemusement, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing issue of package theft, particularly during peak delivery times. Authorities continue to investigate and encourage anyone with information to contact the Gloucester Township Police Department.
