Transgender-identifying activist Dylan Mulvaney has embarked on a solo trip to Peru. Mulvaney, who recently faced significant backlash following a partnership with Bud Light, took to social media to document his journey and share his experiences.

Videos posted on TikTok showcase Mulvaney amidst the breathtaking scenery of Peru, alongside llamas and exploring the iconic Incan city of Machu Picchu. Expressing his admiration for the country, Mulvaney remarked, “I’ve seen a lot of llamas. The people here are so kind. I feel very safe here.” He also mentioned participating in shaman ceremonies, which he described as a transformative therapeutic experience akin to a decade’s worth of therapy.

Mulvaney expressed his desire to leave America for safety reasons stating, “It’s a little sad that I had to leave my country to feel safe.”

Mulvaney candidly revealed their motivation for traveling to Peru, stating, “I came here to feel something. And I definitely have.”  Mulvaney expressed, “This trip has me feeling like my own best friend again. And that is the best feeling in the world.”

Mulvaney’s journey follows the controversy surrounding their partnership with Anheuser-Busch’s Bud Light brand, which resulted in substantial financial losses and a significant decline in market value. The activist had collaborated with the beer company, which led to their face being featured on a Bud Light can. However, Mulvaney later criticized the brand, claiming they failed to support them adequately in the face of public criticism.

Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth has yet to label the partnership as a mistake but has expressed a desire for the brand not to be divisive. Mulvaney, however, lamented the lack of support, saying, “I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me, but they never did. For months now, I’ve been scared to leave my house, I have been ridiculed in public, I’ve been followed.”

The negative repercussions of the partnership have been felt by Bud Light, as sales plummeted, causing the once-popular beer to slip from its position among the top ten most popular beers in the country. Recent customer surveys indicate Bud Light has fallen to number 14, further highlighting the consequences of the controversial collaboration.
