Congressman Cory Mills (R-FL) embarked on a clandestine mission to Israel overnight Tuesday to aid in the evacuation of Americans amid the ongoing onslaught by Hamas terrorists. The first-term congressman, also an Army veteran and defense contractor, shared with The Floridian that he successfully assisted 32 Americans in leaving the conflict-ridden country. However, he revealed that hundreds more U.S. citizens remain “trapped” in the turmoil.

This isn’t Mills’ first foray into high-stakes rescue operations. The congressman, who co-founded a private security company, previously played a pivotal role in rescuing an American family from Afghanistan following the tumultuous withdrawal of U.S. forces ordered by President Joe Biden.

Mills, a part of a team of military contractors, has earned a reputation for his commitment to aiding Americans in perilous situations. His colleague, Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), confirmed that Mills had informed members of Florida’s congressional delegation about his journey to Israel for the evacuation efforts.

The gravity of the situation was underscored by the U.S. State Department’s report that 22 Americans have lost their lives at the hands of Hamas terrorists since the commencement of the attack on Saturday. Former Texas Rep. Mayra Flores shared a photo of Mills in Israel, highlighting his dedication to the rescue mission and calling for divine protection for the team involved.

Meanwhile, the conflict between Israel and Hamas has escalated dramatically, with over 1,200 Israelis falling victim to the terror attack. Shockingly, the terrorists have taken at least 150 hostages into the Gaza Strip, threatening to film their executions. In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are gearing up for a ground operation to rescue the hostages, with reports suggesting that U.S. special forces are collaborating with the IDF on a potential rescue mission in the Gaza Strip.

The situation has prompted one IDF official, Major General Itai Veruv, to describe it not as a war but as a “massacre.” He drew poignant parallels to historical atrocities, emphasizing the brutality of the attacks on innocent civilians.
