One of the biggest names in sports, Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, is caught up in a Jerry Springer-style controversy.

Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, finds himself at the center of a legal battle that’s anything but typical for a sports team owner. A judge has recently ordered Jones to undergo a paternity test to determine if he is the biological father of Alexandra Davis, a 27-year-old woman who brought the lawsuit against him last year.

This is a story that has unfolded over decades, beginning with claims that Alexandra was conceived following a relationship between her mother, Cynthia Davis, and Jones back in the mid-1990s. What’s even more intriguing is an agreement that was purportedly reached, where Jones would provide financial support without publicly acknowledging Alexandra as his daughter.

Alexandra’s journey to the truth has been fraught with legal battles, including a defamation lawsuit where she alleges that Jones, alongside two others, labeled her an “extortionist” and a “shakedown artist.” This case was refiled in November 2023 after being partially dismissed a month earlier.

Jerry Jones, who turned the Cowboys into a $9 billion empire since purchasing the team in 1989, is no stranger to drama. However, this legal issue brings a personal dimension that frankly looks bad.

A Texas federal judge dismissed the defamation lawsuit against Jones in October of 2023. The judge ruled that the statements made about Davis in the media were either true or not defamatory. This dismissal, however, does not mark the end of the legal road. The court has allowed for the case to be amended, and now Jones has to take a test.

The now 81-year-old NFL owners turned the Cowboys into a $9 billion team after purchasing the franchise for $150 million in 1989. Depending on the results of his test it would appear that he might have to share some of that with Alexandra.
