Kellogg’s beloved mascot, Tony the Tiger, made an unexpected appearance at the 76th Tony Awards alongside trans-identifying male activist Dylan Mulvaney. The red carpet photographs quickly circulated on social media, triggering a heated debate. While some expressed concerns about Kellogg’s alleged alignment with progressive causes, others defended the cereal brand and emphasized the importance of separating personal opinions from consumer choices.

At the Tony Awards, Tony the Tiger exchanged his signature red bandana for a bow tie, standing beside Dylan Mulvaney for the photographs. Mulvaney, known for their activism and previous collaboration with Bud Light, attracted attention due to the negative impact on the beer company’s market value. This led to speculations that Kellogg’s might face a similar fate.

Twitter became the primary platform for expressing opinions about the unexpected Tony the Tiger appearance. Some users criticized Kellogg’s, suggesting that the company had embraced the so-called “woke” culture, potentially alienating its customer base. Concerns were raised regarding Kellogg’s “Spirit Day” box, which some believed promoted the LGBT agenda to young children. These voices claimed that the company was encroaching on their children’s innocence.

One person tweeted, “The maker of Froot Loops, and other famous breakfast cereals, has embraced transgenderism. Tony the Tiger embraced Dylan Mulvaney on the ‘magenta’ carpet at the Tony Awards.”

While another said,

Another added, “It’s a sad day. KelloggsUS KelloggCompany goes woke. Even having Tony the Tiger bow to the Trans Mulvaney & holding his dress train. A month long celebration of perversion. When our veterans get 1 day. Truly sick.”

In contrast, others were more supportive of Kellogg’s and its decision to include Tony the Tiger in the Tony Awards. They argued that the event was a celebration of theater and diversity, and it was unjust to criticize a company for participating in such an occasion. Several individuals voiced their intent to continue buying Kellogg’s products despite the controversy.
