President Donald Trump told a crowd in Arizona that Democrats will “destroy our country” if they win back power. This blunt warning came during a campaign stop in Bullhead City designed to boost Republican candidates for the midterm elections. He declared that America belongs to those who love it, not those who hate it.
During the event, a slate of GOP candidates, the Republican gubernatorial nominee Rep. Andy Biggs, and Trump were rallied behind. To honor Charlie Kirk, the President targeted Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs and demanded a victory.
Biggs Urges a Red Wave
Biggs, appearing with Trump, cited the president’s February State of the Union address to Congress. Democrats faced accusations from him for refusing to stand as Trump questioned lawmakers regarding their commitment to Americans. Biggs told the crowd, “Vote Republican top to bottom,” and added, “Let’s turn Arizona red.” The Washington Examiner reported that the event was specifically designed to help the party in this battleground state.
Trump seized on the criticism regarding the lawmakers’ reactions to a veteran honored during his speech. He said, “Not one Democrat smiled or clapped,” according to Fox News. He then recalled looking at them and saying, “‘You people are crazy.'” He continued, “But that’s what we have.” The President noted that they will destroy the country if given the chance.
Honoring Real Heroes
The rally also featured a moment to honor true American heroes. The Medal of Honor was presented by Trump to retired Navy Capt. E. Royce Williams, who was 100 at the time. World War II veteran George “Buddy” Taggart received recognition from him as well. These men stood for the values the President says are under attack by the other party.
Biggs selected Alex Kolodin in July for the newly created office of secretary of state. Attacking Democratic incumbent Adrian Fontes, Trump encouraged supporters to vote for Kolodin, describing him as “a warrior for election integrity”. The message was clear: the upcoming vote is about protecting the nation itself.
