The U.S. Military again took decisive action against an Iranian-backed terrorist group that has been causing chaos and attacking our forces in Iraq. The airstrikes were carried out in response to continued attacks launched by the group, Kataib Hezbollah, which has been a thorn in the side of U.S. forces and the Iraqi people for years.
The strikes targeted three facilities used by Kataib Hezbollah and other Iran-affiliated groups, including their headquarters, storage sites, and training locations for deadly weapons and one-way attack UAV capabilities. This shows that the U.S. is not taking its aggression lightly and will not hesitate to defend our troops and allies when necessary.
The Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, has made it clear that the Biden administration will not back down from protecting our forces and interests in the region. This is a welcome change from the previous administration, which often turned a blind eye to Iranian aggression and even went so far as to appease them with a flawed nuclear deal.
Kataib Hezbollah is no stranger to violence and has been a problem in Iraq since its inception in 2007. This terrorist group has one goal in mind: to create an Iran-aligned government in Iraq, expel U.S. and coalition forces, and advance Iranian interests throughout the Middle East. They have received extensive support from Iran’s notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF), further proving their allegiance to Iran and their malicious intentions.
But this is not the first time the U.S. has had to take action against this group. In fact, since October 17, 2023, there have been over 150 attacks launched by Kataib Hezbollah against U.S. forces in the region. They will not stop until they are stopped, and it is up to the U.S. to put an end to their reign of terror.
“Are the airstrikes in Yemen working?”
Joe Biden: “Well when you say working, are they stopping the Houthis? No. Will they continue? Yes”

It is also worth noting that these strikes were carried out unilaterally, showing that the U.S. is not afraid to act alone if necessary. This sends a strong message to other groups and countries that the U.S. will not back down in the face of aggression and will do what is necessary to protect our interests and allies.
The airstrikes against Kataib Hezbollah were a necessary and decisive response to their continued attacks against U.S. forces in the region. It is time for the U.S. to stand strong against Iranian aggression and protect our interests and allies. We must continue to monitor the situation closely and be prepared to take further action if necessary.
