It seems like President Biden’s team is feeling the heat as Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on the mishandling of classified documents is set to be released. According to Axios, the Biden camp is worried that embarrassing photos included in the report could hurt Biden’s chances for reelection in 2024.

While it’s unlikely that Biden will face criminal charges as a result of the investigation, his aides are fearing the worst as the report could reveal how he stored classified materials in a garage at his Delaware home and a private office. These documents date back to Biden’s time as Vice President under former President Obama.

But the Bidens aren’t the only ones being investigated for their handling of classified materials. Former President Trump is also facing over 40 counts for improperly storing classified documents at his private residence in Mar-a-Lago after leaving the White House. Talk about a double standard!

Interestingly enough, Hur, a former U.S. attorney nominated by Trump and a former clerk for conservative Chief Justice William Rehnquist, is heading the probe. One has to wonder if Biden’s team is starting to regret not fighting harder against Hur’s appointment.

To make matters worse, Biden’s handling of the classified documents could be used against him by Trump’s campaign in a potential 2024 rematch. Talk about irony!

Biden has attempted to downplay the issue, previously stating, “By the way, my Corvette is in a locked garage, so it’s not like they’re sitting out on the street.” I’m sorry, did Biden just compare classified documents to his car? Is this supposed to make us feel better about his lack of security measures?

Attorney General Merrick Garland has promised to make the report public, holding nothing back. But let’s not forget that Garland was Biden’s nominee for the Supreme Court, so there may be some bias in his actions.

And despite Garland’s promises, Biden’s team is being accused of dragging their feet in the investigation. Former senior adviser to Garland, Anthony Coley, wrote in an op-ed that the “drip, drip, drip” of information from the Biden camp only makes the discoveries seem worse.

It will be interesting to see how the report is released, as previous special counsels have testified at the end of their investigations.
