Bill Maher confirmed he will dine with President Trump next week, while Eric Trump demands an FCC probe into a botched ABC News report.

On Monday, Bill Maher informed Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel that President Donald Trump extended an invitation for a private dinner at the White House next week. The HBO host said the President reached out “out of the blue” to set up a second meeting with just a few people in attendance. Maher admitted he was surprised by the invite but accepted the offer immediately.

During the “Club Random” podcast, Maher described the President as “really nice” and noted Trump promised to stop making fun of him like he did at their first meal. “I’m having dinner with him next week,” Maher told Emanuel, according to RedState. He added that he told the President he could say whatever he wanted since he is the leader of the country.

Leftist Reactions and Hypocrisy Claims

Maher remarked that it “blows my mind” for individuals on the left to reject the opportunity to converse openly with the President inside the White House. He pointed out that comedian Larry David flipped out over the first dinner while David’s own agent, Ari Emanuel, was also talking to Trump. This contradiction has caused a stir among liberal circles who criticized the initial meeting.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Republicans faced their own disruption at the annual Lincoln-Reagan Dinner in Eagan on Friday. Activists bought tickets costing $200 to $250 each to enter the event and waved a banner reading “RepubliKKKan Party” at gubernatorial candidate Lisa Demuth. Alex Plechash, the Minnesota GOP Chair, described the incident as a “symbol of racial terror at a Black woman leader, at a dinner named for the president who ended slavery”.

According to RedState, these symbols “still have no place anywhere, least of all aimed at a Black woman seeking the highest office in our state”. Police ordered eight people to leave the room, though it remains unclear if charges will be filed against them.

Eric Trump Demands FCC Probe

In a separate development, Eric Trump expressed support for a federal investigation into a false report published by ABC News last week. Senator Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, requested that the Federal Communications Commission examine why the network released a headline stating “Trump sons’ investments have won billions in Pentagon contracts since his election”, according to the New York Post.

The network initially deleted the report without explanation and then republished it with a correction. The original story claimed a $2.5 billion investment, but the figure actually represented a broader fundraising round while 1789 Capital’s share was only about $50 million. “Thank you @berniemoreno — can’t wait to participate!” Eric Trump reacted Monday on X.

In a letter to FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, Moreno sought answers regarding who authorized the false story and whether the author faced termination. The Senator encouraged the Commission to launch a formal inquiry into what he characterized as a “political hit job” executed by the network. ABC News has not yet commented on the demand for a federal probe.
