Devon Archer, a long-time friend of Hunter Biden and former board member of Burisma Holdings, faced reporters’ questions with a smile as he entered the O’Neill House Office Building for an interview with the House Oversight Committee on Monday. The committee had invited Archer to shed light on President Biden’s alleged involvement in his son’s business dealings during his tenure as vice president.

Archer, who co-founded Hunter’s now-dissolved investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners, has been under scrutiny for his role in a $60 million bond fraud that involved various clients, leading to his sentencing to one year in prison. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York requested Judge Ronnie Abrams to schedule a date for Archer to report to prison, but his counsel argued that it was “premature” to set a sentencing date, citing Archer’s consideration of further appeals. Consequently, Archer’s prison sentence has been repeatedly postponed amid a series of appeals.

The House Oversight Committee’s interest in Archer stems from his close ties with Hunter Biden and the potential insights he may offer into President Biden’s involvement in his son’s business deals. Allegations suggest that Hunter routinely introduced foreign business partners and prospective investors to his father while he served as vice president. This has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the need for transparency regarding the president’s actions during his tenure.

Notably, at least three previously scheduled depositions with Archer were canceled for personal reasons, leading to heightened anticipation for the latest interview with the committee.

As a top House committee conducted the interview behind closed doors, reporters eagerly awaited any revelations that might emerge. The Republican-led committee seeks to uncover the extent of President Biden’s knowledge and involvement in his son’s business activities, especially given the sensitive period when the vice president was conducting official government duties.

Miranda Devine, a New York Post columnist, and Fox News contributor, previously reported that Archer is expected to disclose instances where Hunter Biden introduced his father to foreign business partners and potential investors. Such information could potentially shed light on the nature of the relationships between the Biden family and foreign entities, potentially impacting public perceptions and raising further questions about conflicts of interest.

As the investigation continues, the American public eagerly awaits any developments that may arise from the interview with Archer and the potential implications they may have on the Biden administration.
