Disney fans, get ready to “drop on in” to the Magic Kingdom this summer – the official opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been announced. The highly anticipated attraction, which replaces the former Splash Mountain ride, will welcome guests on June 28th.
According to a press release from Disney, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure promises to be a “musical adventure” for all guests. The ride will feature dozens of Audio-Animatronics figures, a toe-tapping soundtrack, and a celebration where everyone is welcome. Fans of the 2009 film “Princess and the Frog” will be delighted to see the beloved characters of Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, Louis, and the lovable critters come to life.
One aspect of the new ride is its authentic representation of the region of New Orleans. Guests will be transported to the vibrant bayou, with the sounds of Zydeco, Rara, and Afro-Cuban music filling the air. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is sure to be a party for all ages.
For those eager to experience the ride before its official opening, Disney has announced that Florida-based cast members, annual pass holders, and eligible Disney Vacation Club members will have the opportunity for previews. More information on previews will be available on Tuesday.

Disney has been keeping fans in the loop throughout the reimagination process of the ride, with updates posted on the Disney Parks Blog. Fans were recently treated to videos of ride tests, showcasing the iconic 50-foot drop in the new log design.
The former Splash Mountain ride broke a Walt Disney World record on its final day of operation in January 2023, with fans waiting up to four hours to take one more ride, according to Thrill Data. Despite its popularity, the ride faced backlash on social media for featuring characters and music from the 1946 film “Song of the South,” which has been criticized for its racist themes.
