Aldi has issued a recall for its frozen Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos due to the potential presence of metal in the product, the company announced this week. The recall was initiated on Monday after reports surfaced of “potential foreign material” found in the product.

The affected items are 20 oz. boxes of Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos, marked with a UPC code of 4061459337471. The products in question have best-by dates of 07/02/25 and 09/25/25. According to Aldi, these taquitos were distributed to locations in numerous states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

In a statement, Aldi emphasized its commitment to product safety and customer trust, stating, “ALDI puts the safety and integrity of the products it sells first. If customers have products affected by this recall, they are advised to discard it immediately or return it to their local store for a full refund. ALDI sincerely regrets the inconvenience and concern caused as a result of this recall.”

Consumers who have purchased the affected taquitos are urged not to consume them. Instead, they should dispose of the product or return it to an Aldi location for a full refund. Additionally, customers with questions or concerns can contact Bestway Foods Co., the product’s supplier, at (818) 361-1800 Ext. 110 for further assistance.

Incidents of frozen food recalls due to metal contamination are uncommon but not unheard of. In a similar case last August, Perdue Foods LLC recalled over 165,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets and tenders after reports of metal wire contamination. Consumer complaints prompted that recall, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a notice urging customers to dispose of the affected products.

As of now, there have been no reports of injuries or illnesses related to the Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos recall. Aldi and its supplier are working to investigate the issue and ensure that the impacted product is promptly removed from store shelves.

Customers are advised to check their freezers for the affected taquitos and take immediate action if the product matches the recall details. This latest recall serves as a reminder for consumers to remain vigilant about product notices and to report any potential safety concerns to manufacturers or relevant regulatory authorities.

But wait, there’s more:

Aldi’s swift action to address the potential contamination underscores the importance of food safety protocols and maintaining customer trust. The company has assured its customers that it is prioritizing safety and taking steps to prevent future incidents. For now, consumers in the affected states are encouraged to monitor updates and seek assistance if they believe they have purchased the recalled product.
