A recent TikTok video featuring a male Disney employee wearing a dress has stirred up a heated online debate. The video, originally shared by Kourtni Faber, a dental hygienist, and mother of three, went viral, attracting both support and criticism. As discussions around gender identity and inclusivity continue to evolve, this incident has brought the spotlight onto Disney’s updated uniform policy, which allows cast members to express their gender identity through clothing choices.

In the video, a man sporting a mustache and a gown, identified as Nick, greets children entering a Disneyland boutique filled with princess costumes. He offers to assist the young customers and introduces himself as their personal shopper for the day. The clip also features a female store employee in the same uniform, helping a girl undergo a princess makeover. The video gained millions of views and sparked mixed reactions across various social media platforms.

The TikTok video evoked a range of responses. Supporters of the video expressed admiration for Nick and commended his work at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Others, however, voiced concerns about the presence of a mustached man in a traditionally female-oriented setting. Some individuals characterized this as grooming or inappropriate behavior, suggesting that Disney was prioritizing political activism over providing value to its customers.

“Absolutely grooming. That is a moment for little girls. Mustache has no business there,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Disney is just an LGBT activist organization at this point,” said another commenter. “Any sane company would have backed down by now. Disney keeps doubling down because it would rather engage in political activism than return value to its shareholders.”

However, many comments on TikTok said that they “love” Nick and that he’s been working at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a while.

The controversy surrounding the video prompted a closer examination of Disney’s uniform policy. In 2021, the company updated its guidelines to promote inclusivity among its cast members, allowing them to wear gendered clothing of their preference, regardless of their biological sex. T The updated policy also addressed other aspects such as visible tattoos and gender-inclusive hairstyles, jewelry, and nail styles.
