In a recent development, the House Oversight Committee has issued a subpoena for phone records associated with a phone that was allegedly paid for by Hunter Biden’s business and used by President Joe Biden himself. This revelation was made by Peter Schweizer, the President of the Government Accountability Institute, during an interview with 77 WABC’s Cats & Cosby.

According to Schweizer, information obtained from Hunter Biden’s laptop suggests that he paid the phone bill for his father’s phone from 2009 to 2017, a period that coincided with Joe Biden’s tenure as Vice President. Schweizer further revealed that the phone in question was not a government-issued device but was instead paid for by Hunter Biden’s business.

The disclosure of these phone records has piqued the interest of the Oversight Committee, as it may shed light on the individuals with whom President Biden communicated during that time. Schweizer, known for his work exposing political corruption, believes that the subpoenaed phone records could yield significant and intriguing information about Joe Biden’s contacts during his vice-presidential years.

In addition to the phone records subpoena, Schweizer also discussed the reported removal of an investigative team at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that was looking into Hunter Biden’s alleged tax evasion. He expressed concern about a potential pattern emerging, referring to whistleblower complaints filed by IRS employees who had raised concerns about possible political interference in the Hunter Biden tax evasion case. The reported removal of these individuals from the case raises questions about compliance with whistleblower protection laws.

Schweizer highlighted the significance of the IRS investigation into Hunter Biden’s financial affairs, which had revealed substantial amounts of foreign income not reported for taxation purposes. While a lawyer in Los Angeles had reportedly paid a portion of the back taxes owed, the IRS investigation was still examining potential charges of tax evasion.

The decision to remove the investigative team, which had been working on the Hunter Biden case for several years, raises concerns about the impact on the ongoing investigation. Schweizer argues that such a move may not only hinder the progress of the investigation but also potentially violate whistleblower protection statutes.

The developments surrounding the subpoenaed phone records and the removal of the investigative team have sparked interest and raised questions about potential political interference and the adherence to legal processes. As this story continues to unfold, it is crucial for the House Oversight Committee and the IRS to conduct a thorough and fair investigation to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the law.
