The Dismal Handling of Star Wars

It’s a sad day when a once-great franchise is reduced to a shell of its former self, but that’s exactly what has happened to Star Wars thanks to the meddling of Disney and their chosen leader, Kathleen Kennedy. Remember when Star Wars was a cultural phenomenon, loved and adored by fans all over the world? Pepperidge Farm remembers, but it seems like Disney has forgotten.

Kennedy, appointed by Disney to take over Lucasfilm, has driven the franchise off a cliff with her misguided attempts to lecture viewers about woke politics. From “The Force Awakens” to “The Rise of Skywalker,” the franchise has been turned into a poorly-written propaganda machine, with each installment serving as a tedious lecture on feminism and diversity.

The most recent victim of this feminization is the highly-anticipated “Kenobi” series, which managed to turn a beloved character into a disaster centered around an unlikable “strong female” antagonist. This continual emasculation and marginalization of male characters in favor of girl power vibes has become a tiresome and predictable meme.

But the failure of the recent “Ahsoka” show and Disney Plus’s continued loss of subscribers should have been a wake-up call. A franchise that primarily appeals to men does not do well when it is constantly lecturing them about the evils of toxic masculinity. Who could have guessed?

And now, in an effort to “correct course,” Disney has announced yet another film centered around a “strong female” character, played by one of the least-liked characters in franchise history.

But hey, let’s not forget about Leigh Brackett, the woman who co-wrote “Empire Strikes Back,” arguably the best Star Wars film of all time. Did she care about being a woman while penning that masterpiece? No, she was focused on crafting a compelling and original story. Imagine that.

Sadly, Disney seems to be incapable of learning from their mistakes. Instead, they continue to double down on their woke agenda, even though it has nearly destroyed the franchise.

The spark of creativity and imagination that made the original trilogy so beloved is gone, replaced by a soulless corporate machine. And with no signs of stopping, it’s clear that Disney is determined to drive the final nail into the coffin of Star Wars.

Star Wars is dead, and it’s all thanks to the woke propaganda machine that is Disney. May the Force rest in peace.
