Former President Donald Trump aired a 77-second Super Bowl ad in which he rips former Gov. Nikki Haley. The ad follows a recent clash between Trump and his once loyal ally, Haley. In the ad, Trump was shown stating, “Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security.” The ad also reminded viewers that Haley has been trying to rewrite her position on raising the retirement age.

“Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security,” he said in January 2023.

The Super Bowl ad highlights the difference in positions on Social Security between Trump and Haley Laura Ingraham said on Fox News. It kicks off with Haley making a bold but erroneous claim. “The fact that Donald Trump says I want to cut Social Security or raise the age. I’ve never said that,” Haley claimed in a clip. Trump has consistently been against touching Social Security and is seen defending this position in the ad. “Trump’s challenging Haley’s statement claim she didn’t call for easing the age of social security is now under review,” the referee says.

“Here’s exactly what the official is looking at,” the Fox News anchor said. The ad then shows Haley making contradictory statements in which she calls for easing the default retirement age of social security.

“We say the rules have changed,” Haley replies. “What we do know is 65 is way too low and we need to increase that,” Haley reiterates in the clip.

In another clip, Haley is seen telling an anchor, “Social Security, Medicare, how would you manage the entitlements.” Haley then said, “We change retirement age to reflect life expectancy. The call is pretty clear,” the announcer says. “But let’s go down to the field and see what official Gene Tunni has to say,” he added.

After claiming that Trump was responsible for the Capitol riot, Haley said that any politician who misled people should be held accountable. Paradoxically, Haley also said that Trump’s record is phenomenal and that she would remain a loyal ally of Trump.

However, after the break-up last time, this time Haley’s statements and records are putting her in an awkward position. Though Haley maintains her position and continues campaigning that she will protect Social Security, it seems her back-and-forth statements are catching up with her.
