Wallis Computer Solutions, a small IT company based in Dalwallinu, Western Australia, has once again captured headlines with its recent job advertisement seeking a “not-woke” employee for its MSP L2+ Technician team. The ad has sparked controversy for its unconventional approach and has reignited debates over diversity, inclusivity, and medical choices in the workplace.

The job listing, as reported by the New York Post, explicitly stated that the company is looking for a technician who is not interested in pushing their pronouns and values of diversity of thought. While the advertisement’s intentions may have been to attract like-minded candidates, it has raised eyebrows due to its dismissive tone toward pronoun usage and the concept of being “woke.”

One specific phrase used in the listing, “we know what a woman is,” drew attention as it closely resembled a phrase from Matt Walsh’s documentary “What Is A Woman?” This reference has added fuel to the controversy, with critics accusing the company of promoting a biased and exclusionary work environment.

The job description further sparked debate by stating that there are “no requirements for pronouns,” implying that the company does not endorse or recognize gender-neutral pronouns or gender identities outside the binary norms. This stance has been met with both support from individuals with traditional views and criticism from those advocating for more inclusive language practices.

Notably, the company’s promise that the employee would “never be forced to get any medical treatment” and the statement that prospective employees are not required to have the COVID vaccine or any other vaccine to work have added another layer of contention. This approach aligns with the company’s previous stance on medical decisions being a personal choice.

Managing director Nathanael Wallis has defended the company’s position, emphasizing his belief in respecting the personal autonomy of staff members when it comes to making medical choices. He stated that the company does not seek to influence these decisions and firmly stands by the conviction that medical choices should remain a personal matter.

This is not the first time Wallis Computer Solutions has made headlines for its unconventional job listings. Last year, the company drew attention with its advertisement for an “Unvaxxed Remote MSP Technician job,” signaling its stance on the contentious issue of COVID vaccinations.
